Case Study: PEAS – The Big Give Campaign

Background

PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) launched a fundraising campaign through the UK-based Big Give platform to expand classroom space at PEAS Bwesumbu Secondary School in Uganda. The goal was to build a 3-classroom block to address overcrowding and provide access to inclusive education for more young people, especially girls who are often the first to miss out due to limited space.

As we look forward, inclusivity becomes paramount. Delve into discussions on how social networks can create spaces that embrace diversity, foster understanding, and amplify voices from all walks of life. The future of social networking is user-centric.

Bivayn’s Role

Bivayn was contracted to produce the official campaign video for The Big Give. Our team travelled on-site to Bweseumbu, capturing powerful stories and visuals to convey the urgent need for classroom expansion. We handled all aspects of the production—pre-production planning, field interviews, filming, editing, and final delivery of a compelling narrative that highlighted the campaign’s purpose and human impact.

The result was a high-impact story that communicated more than just infrastructure needs—it centered the lives of real students, teachers, and the future they deserve.

Campaign Impact

Thanks in part to the success of the campaign video produced by Bivayn, PEAS was able to raise:

  • £213,426 (97% of the target) f rom 247 donations
  • Enough to build and furnish 3 new classrooms
  • 180 more students will be served annually
  • Over 4,500 students will benefit in the next 25 years

The result was a high-impact story that communicated more than just infrastructure needs—it centered the lives of real students, teachers, and the future they deserve.

These new classrooms will be powered by solar energy, equipped with durable furniture, and built to last—ensuring that young people, especially girls, can access quality education in a safe and supportive space.
